What is the difference between 1066 and 800 DDR2 (besides the speeds)? Someone on another forum insists that 1066 is needed and 800 is for budget, I think this isn't the case. Who's right?
For what system, and for what settings? DDR2 800MHz is fine for most systems. If you are overclocking your FSB past 400MHz, then you would want to look at DDR2 1066, but not everyone does that.
DDR2 1066 is just DDR2 800 anyway since there isn't any JEDEC standard for DDR2 1066. I have Mushkin DDR2 800 and have had it up to DDR2 975 running 1:1 with a 1950FSB (my board crapped out before my memory did) and other's have had the same memory I have past 1.1GHz so a good quality 800 will be fine.
