[SOLVED] RAM still at 2133 AFTER XMP enabled

So Ive bought some Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000Mhz RAM - 2X8GB, and after installing it went to check the speed was right. However for some reason the clock speed is capped at 2133mhz. I checked around online and found I have to enabled XMP in the BIOS. I did this but the frequency is still the same.

Looking around again, I found that there might be a chance that my motherboard cannot support 3000mhz RAM, but should be able to run it at 2400?

My motherboard is a Gigabyte h110m-s2h

Any help at all to increase the speed would be incredibly helpful )))

Due to the chipset you will never be able to go past DDR4-2400MHz. So that money you invested on the ram kit was unnecessary. What processor are you working with?

Intel B and H 100 series chipsets only supported up to 2133.

Ah thought so... Oh well. If I get a z170 motherboard will that support 3000mhz?
Also I've got an i5 6600k

Yes, a Z170 would allow for faster ram. Not sure if it is worth sinking more money into a dead platform, though.
