ram is just the ram sticks you have on your pc, vram is what your gpu (graphics processing unit has). in short ram is for loading applications and vram is for loading graphics.

RAM is your system memory. VRAM is your GPUs memory. They are not interchangeable, unless you use integrated graphics, in which case, your system RAM plays the role of both.

If you're using Asus ROG GL552VW laptop, then it has dual graphics and
Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 530 - uses system RAM,
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M with 2G/4G GDDR5 - uses VRAM.
You can't change anything there.
