Hi

On noctua's website there's an X beside the board but no comment to specify what's the issue so i contacted them and they say it does covers the first PCIe slot and would be best to get the compatible version which is the D15S. But, because my ram model of choice just went out of stock in my country and unlikely to be back any time soon, i will have to re access some things... So i was thinking on maybe getting standard sized ram a Corsair Quad Kit *https://tinyurl.com/yayenml6* (31mm according to video on page) and getting the D15. But then there's PCIe slot it apparently covers... I'm assuming i'll lose the best performance slot cuz of the cooler? How much will it cover? Cuz i was thinking about also using a Thermaltake Gaming PCI-E 3.0 X16 Riser Cable *https://tinyurl.com/yd5suxe7* for the GPU and that MAYBE that riser can fit where a gpu cannot and still be usable? Watcho guys think? Will this work? The board is a Asus Rog Rampage V Edition 10 *https://tinyurl.com/y82cz5tl* on a Thermaltake View 37 RGB Edition *https://tinyurl.com/y78fhjo7* case...

Thanks

The spec on the ASUS website says they are -

"Expansion Slots 4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16"

This is reduced however when you occupy other slots.

Yes you can use a riser in slot 1 if you want to.

You sure? I got a gpu installed on a x16 slot yet any software i check says it's x4 and i only have 1 card...

Yes i plan to use one gpu only on my upgrade... But bare with me here, if i want to use the 1st PCIe slot that the D15 covers, will it work? You think the riser would fit?

Really? You mean even with the D15 covering the 1st PCIe Slot there's still enough space to fit the riser (on the covered pcie slot) and plug it to the gpu? Just making doubly sure before i buy it...

Check the dimensions of the Riser, then go to the Noctua website and check the dimensions of the cooler.
