This may seem like a strange question, but I was vacuuming my hardwood floor today. The vacuum power head ran over the A/C cord of the surge protector that was connected to the computer. The computer was off at the time, but the surge protector was on. I checked the A/C cord of the surge protector and I didn't see any nicks or cuts, and the PC powers on OK. Do you think I might have messed something up?

I am a bit paranoid because this is a brand new PC, and so I don't want to damage anything. 🙁

Anyone ever run a vacuum cleaner over a power cord before? I hope I didn't damage something...

Solution
1) Very unlikely you could have an issue

2) If in doubt hook up one or more items OTHER than your computer to the surge protector to test it.

The important parts of the surge protector are basically impossible to damage physically if the plastic coating hasn't been damaged.
As long as the cord and plug were not damaged, you're OK. Damage could include cuts in the plastic insulation covering the power and ground wires, or a broken plug. If you don't see any obvious damage, it should be good. If there is damage, get another surge protector.

lol It's really funny how paranoid you are, only come to the forums if you have a real problem for those little things you got search engines, I wouldn't worry unless your computer starts going all wonky
