Hello,

I am having issues with my new PC i built over the weekend shutting down at random intervals. This has happened coincidentally playing a game such as Overwatch 2, but I have also had it shut down during Ghost of Tsushima, as well as random times after a fresh boot (maybe 5 minutes?)

Specs:

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
AMD Ryzen 7800X3D
DeepCool AK620 CPU Air Cooler
Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX
G. Skill Flare X5 Series DDR5 RAM 32GB
Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 Full Modular, 850W 80 Plus GOLD Power Supply
TEAMGROUP T-Force CARDEA A440 Graphene 2TB
TEAMGROUP MP33 PRO 1TB SLC
Thermaltake Ceres 300 Mid Tower E-ATX Computer Case
Windows 11 Home

Every time it shutsdown, both monitors go black and my fans shut off. The lights on the fans and card continue to stay on.

I have tried checking event viewer, but there are no direct warning, error, or critical events that happen. There are warning events that happen, but dont seem directly tied to the shutdown (6155,1796,10016)

I have used both the stock BIOS and the most recent BIOS of the motherboard, and don't seem to have a change. Graphics card is updated. I re-installed Windows 11 fresh from cloud (kept files).
I tried using a program that detected drivers needing updated, but this disconnected my keyboard and wouldn't reconnect after estart. (This was fixed by fresh windows install)
Today I ran OCCT to check stability of all components (45 min), but I have not checked power yet beyond 5 minutes.

Some other occurences I had a restart earlier on:
Updating XBOX Application
Joining a World on Wuthering Waves

Could it be a network issue? The place I'm at has issues where the internet lag spikes due to poor community foundation.

Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I re-installed Windows 11 fresh from cloud (kept files).
Backup your mission critical files, recreate your bootable USB installer and reinstall your OS in offline mode. Once your OS is installed, manually install all drivers relvant to your platform in an elevated command.

On the note about your BIOS, did you clear the CMOS after you'd verified your BIOS was flashed to the latest version?

I tried using a program that detected drivers needing updated
Please steer clear of any third party apps. Cross reference your device maker's support site, for the latest version comparing the one installed on your platform.

Have proceeded with reinstalling the BIOS, clearing CMOS, and then an offline install of Windows 11 (I'm now locked out of using my product key because a "change in hardware 0xC0EA000A", but saw that waiting a few hours helps)

Currently Installing clean Graphics Drivers for my GPU, and will install the normal game stuff (steam, discord, etc.)

Will send an update if the problems still occur.

Update:

Ran Overwatch 2 for about an hour and a half, no issues.
Started to install games from my Steam Library, (was on Wallpaper Engine) and shut down during the update process. Same symptoms as before.

The only installs I have are browsers, LG and Razer Synapse programs, and Steam/Discord.
I did not install the Gigabyte motherboard program this time around, or any other programs of the sort.

One more update (hopefully)

Went with a friend to just look at the computer, cpu temperature sitting at 70 on BIOS.
Found out the sticker was still on the cpu cooler after a second look. We took it off and reapplied the paste, hopefully that was the only issue. Will mark this solved if i dont run into anymore issues
