Hi i recently bought a used pc that had random restarts as I thought I could fix it. System is a asus sabertooth 990 fx mb, amd fx 4170 with a Arctic cooler 7 pro rev 2 temp for cpu is 40 degrees was running windows 8 also a corsair 550vx psu. I added a gtx 660 cu gpu and a new sandisk ssd with a new install of windows 7 and 2gb of ram just to install everything and add more ram later also i reset the cmos everything was running fine 134 updates was installed then the restarts started to happen any help thanks.

Any slot you use will be ok. Now since you still get restarts the problem is the psu and in the worst case the motherboard. I hope you have warranty for what you've bought so you can replace them for free

Hi dram voltage went back to auto so must of typed the wrong value which I entered 1.5 so should input 1.50v or 1.500v as in bios dram voltage is running at 1.478v thanks

Hi I've heard the fx 4170 uses more power than other cpu's voltage if it's a faulty psu maybe that's causing the reboot but will find out tomorrow if it's that and then it's prob the cpu or motherboard that's what will be left thanks.
