Rate my $1000 Gaming PC

Not bad, but If you get an i5 4690K you will get higher performance. The Xeon is locked so you are stuck with its clockspeeds, the i5 can be overclocked and will get you better performance with it's higher clockspeeds. Also, most games still only utilize 1-2 cores, so a higher clock will get you further than more cores. Even so no game I know can efficiently utilize 8 cores or more.
So maybe somethin more like this:

edit: also for gaming 8gb ram is more than enough. You could get 8 gb and put that extra cash in a bigger SSD to put them games on.

Crysis 3 works really great on Xeons, but apart from that one title I do not know of any other game capable of utilising that many cores.

A Xeon and 16gb ram wont give you much performance increase that an i5 and 8gb ram cant give.

Thank you! Also, before I select you for a solution, how do you do that with the PCPartPicker specs.

Glad to help. From pcpartpicker you select export list and then select export to BBCode and paste it here.

Thank you for your recommendation!
