I'm considering picking this up for $900, 6 months of use on most of the parts.

I want to run current games on max settings with stable FPS, 30+

Is this worth the money? Will the CPU bottleneck? Am I better off buying everything new at a hit to performance? How much of a hit would I be taking?

Solution
If the seller can demonstrate that the build works, I'd go for it. Make sure to run something like OCCT and HWMonitor (a free download for personal use on both of those) just to be sure that 1) It won't crash under load, and 2) temps are within spec.

I have a 1090T with a 6950, and I get minimum 30 frames at 1080p in most games. The ones that don't get minimum 30 frames, such as Crysis, only ever go below 30 at rare times. I have had no issues what so ever in terms of frame rates.

How is it over-priced? The 680 alone is half of my $900 budget retail.

Are you buying a BRAND, NEW 680? No. Therefore.. Why pay more? Your RAM is wayy overpriced too btw.. I have 16 gigs of 1866 G.Skill Sniper I got last year for the same price that 8gig set is.. (2 sticks of 8). If you keep comparing the 680 to the one in the bundle which is used.. I would just go ahead and buy a new one.. I don't want to appear like I am patronizing you.. But Novuake has a point.. Why pay $900 for a used system that is moderately outdated? In addition to that, why not start fresh with bragging rights to say you built it...

The 680 is about a week old. And I don't know how much the ram actually ran him as far as cost goes, all I know is that it's red corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3 2x 4GB Sticks.

I would love to build my own but this is a monster deal that I can't back down from.

A week? LOL

Yes!!!

I got this total build with used parts for $900 out the door, including a Samsung PX2370 Monitor! Most of the parts still have over a year warranty on them aside from the sound card, but I don't really give a crap about the sound card. The video card is about 3 weeks old and everything is in wonderful pristine condition. I plan on upgrading the Motherboard and CPU in about two years to whatever is winning benchmarks at the time, I'm very, very pleased with this build, it chews up and spits out any game I've thrown at it. :)

And of course, Pictures! Here is the album! 😀

For $900, that is insane. The CPU leaves something to be desired but the system will rip through everything imaginable. Should be fun as hell and that system will last for years.

At first I thought it could be a stolen computer, but doesn't seem so.

Consider yourself damn lucky.
