Hi All,

Can you let me know what you think of this build in respect to the price. I was initially trying to budget £600 but is this build worth doing for £850? (I can't be bothered building my own, although you can try to change my mind if you want.)

Should I upgrade the CPU cooler/ get some water cooling on the go.. Water Cooling sounds the tits.

Some feedback would be appreciated as it's been some time since my last desktop purchase.

Cheers,

Thanks for the response - yeah, it's pre-built.

I made a few alterations which are shown above Ie psu/gfx card/ssd/hdd
The case is the Zalman Z11. Who names these things..

Is there a need to upgrade any components in particular, cooling perhaps? (Not sure why im harping on about the cooling). Is the motherboard ok? I'm aware it's not the best out there by any stretch.

Ideally I'd like:

but at 1.4k after a couple alterations I can't really justify it as I don't play much anymore. Though I want a sick rig for when I can!

Don't get watercooling. You do not need it at all. It will not be better than air cooling and the prebuilt company will use cheap parts.

Is it wroth the money? No. You could build a better system yourself for the same money. This system is not as bad as alot of prebuilts I have seen though.

At least they have a decent PSU. That is usually where prebuilts fail.

OK Dino are a good PC builder here in the UK so i went on using your link and heres what i picked, which gives you a better Motherboard and Case for not much more cash..Oh and the cooler is a decent air cooler and good enough for decent OC ing.

Ok, I don't know why I have a fascination with watercooling - I won't buy it.
So will this computer be able to dominate high end games?
And, really how much better of a computer could I get for the same amount?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for coming up with that, already tempted to go for it.
Is there any real difference between 550W and 650?
Also what's the difference between 2133mhz and 1600mhz RAM?
Lastly, I can take one of my companies windows 8 keys for my OS however I've read that windows 8 professional has had some problems with games, I'm not sure of the truth in this, have you heard anything similar?

The computer will not 'dominate' high end games. It should play them at a mix of high and max settings. It will not max every game at 60fps. If you built it yourself, you could likely get a gtx770 which would dominate high end games.

As long as the PSU is high quality, I would not worry about 550w vs 650w. They will both be fine.

There isn't much difference between the RAM at all. Maybe like 1-2fps if anything.

Windows 8 will be fine. Don't worry about it.

Thanks for the info.
What difference would the motherborad upgrade uther suggested impact performance?
- I'm slightly tempted to build my own if it means getting a 770 for the same cost.
