Hey everyone, so I got the blackwidow ultimate when it was very steeply discounted (paid about $50), and I've become enamored with the LEDs in it. Now, I absolutely LOVE them at 60+% brightness, and I wondered if having like that ALL the time would shorten the lifespan of the keyboard OR if the LEDs will burn out. Thanks, everyone.

I don't see why it would kill them for having them on, they'll probably last long enough until you need a new keyboard. I have the Chroma and my lights are always at 100%. The new Razer update is awesome btw if you haven't updates for the ripple effect, such a cool feature :)

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I don't actually have Synapse or Cortex or whatever installed, it wouldn't connect to my internet through my WiFi adapter.. still, I'll certainly give it a shot if I can customize the LED effects. I wanted WASD+Space illumination as soon as I saw this board was individually backlit 🙂

Yeah, I bought the Chroma solely for the purpose of lights, I just love LEDs :) I hope Synapse will work out for you.

Thanks- it's working right now; I'm registering my KB. Is there a way to set the max brightness for the pulse mode?

Pulse mode? I set my brightness either from Synapse or by pressing the function button right side of my space key and press F12 to make it brighter, or F11 for lower.

Thanks, but I guess what I mean is, there's a "pulse" setting in the "Lighting" tab, and it causes the backlighting to jump to 100%, then fade back down slowly after a few seconds. I'm wondering if I can adjust the settings for the brightness and whatever in the "settings" tab. Preferably, it'd slowly fade in and out of 80% brightness. Also, can I download a custom lighting profile for it? Thanks for all your help, by the way, you've been great.

You mean breathing mode? Like I get these breathing mode, static, reactive, ripple, wave modes for mine, and sure, no problem, always happy to help :)

You know what would be cool? If there is a software upgrade for the keyboard that follows the music you're playing, like a bass of ripple across the keyboard, I'd totally get that even if it cost me more money, lol.
