Razer Megalodon + SupremeFX IV?

Hello, I finished my first gaming system last month.
And now i want to buy gaming gear for upcoming games.
I really like Razer Gear.
So i already bought Razer Anansi, Deathadder and Goliathus.
Now i just need good headset. I want to 7.1 audio so i chose Razer Megalodon(USB).

I need 7.1 sound card to run it in 7.1 mode, I have Maximus V Formula Mobo with SupremeFX IV.
I want to ask if i can run Megalodon in 7.1mode via USB with built-in sound card? or i can only use 7.1 with supremefx if connect to audio jack?

From my understanding the Megalodon uses its own Sound Processing unit. It is the control module that is in between the Headset and the USB Plug.
What you need to do in order to hear 7.1 is to make sure that the source material, I.E. the game, is set to 7.1 in the In-Game settings. Or what ever your source material is that is what needs to be set to 7.1 sound. The Megalodon will then simulate the 7.1 surround sound for you.

That is how it should work.

Almost forgot: Basically you do not need a sound card when using the Megalodon. The Megalodon has a USB Sound Processing Unit that is basically the Sound Card.
