Hi,
My name is Cindy and I hope I am doing this right. I hve never posted anything so please be patient with me. My question is...Can someone name printers that are wireless all in one that work on windows 7? I just bought a Toshiba laptop with windows 7 and need a printer. I have a netgear wireless router and my laptop is 64 bit what ever that means... Thanks
Ps I am computer beginner so I don't know anything about them this is my first computer! Thanks

The HP Deskjet WiFi F4580 seems to match your requirements. If you live in the UK it is £45 from Tesco. Remember to check cartridge costs also.

Visit the Windows 7 Compatiblity Center to find printers that are compatible with 64-bit Windows 7. I did a quick search for you there and found ten all-in-one wireless printers that you can choose from - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Hardware&s=wireless%20all-in-one%20printers

A few from the list are:

HP, reliable but toner/ink costs are stupid.

Lexmark / Dell poor reliability, I should know, my company does 3rd party warrenty work 🙁

Xerox, cheap horrible plastic, some are rebadged Lexmark

Epson, slowing disappearing from public eye.

Canon, toner/ink reasonable price and very reliable. Can handle paper types that cause issues on other printers.

If it has to be a wifi printer, then If my money, get a Canon Pixma MP990/MP640/MP560 and support Win7 x64.

Hello cindy2u,

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.)

There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

Wow, I could have been reading my own question. Toshiba laptop, windows 7, 64 bit and just got the netgear router for my home computer. While I can get around on the computer, I am not as computer savy as some. I am so glad to see the answer posted as I am having issues with getting a nice small printer that will work with it. I am returning the Brother 495 tomorrow because the disk with drivers would not load into my windows 7 and the web site while said had a driver would not download. It printer worked with my home computer or at least it detected my home network, but it would not work with my new laptop. Good luck to you and me.
