Realized RAM wasn't in dual channel and changed, now computer won't boot.

I realized after over a year of using my computer I had the 2 ram sticks in the wrong slots so I decided to move them to the right slots. While I was in there I also removed the gpu so I could see better and made sure my cpu cooler screws were still tight. When I tried to boot it powers on for 10 to 15 seconds and restarts over and over.

I have tried moving ram back to original slots, one ram stick only, no ram, no gpu with ram, no gpu without ram, and resetting CMOS.

Did I break my mobo? Any ideas? I'm going away tomorrow for a few days so if I need to order a part I'd like to do that asap so its here when I get back!

My specs:
Gigabyte z170 mx gaming 5
I7 6700k
2x8 gb g skill ribjaws v ram
Asus dual gtx 1070-08g
Boot drive is a samsung 256gb nvme
Hdd is western digital 2tb

Update: After resetting CMOS again I tried ram into channel 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2 and it booted but only one stick was being recognized so I tried to investigate further. I tried putting ram back into 1 and 2, trying one ram stick again, switching ram sticks into the other sticks slot, putting them back where they were when it booted (8gb better than no gb), resetting CMOS, AND NOTHING!!! I have no clue what's happening.

Are you sure the RAM was inserted fully into the DIMM? Sometimes RAM can look like it is inserted but one of the legs is not fully seated even if the clip is closed on one end.

Yes quite sure. Ive also tried each ram in every slot. If you have one stick it doesn't have to go in slot 1 right?

did you take the cpu out when you checking the cpu cooler?
Try taking the gpu out and use the igpu on the mobo?

HOLY IM DUMB! Turns out I was only pressing the clicky side in all the way... Ram is now all recognized and working in dual channel. Thank you for your knowledge of dumb answers for dumb people aha

Solved now. Stupid me wasn't pressing the RAM in all the way.
