Really low CPU and GPU usage while gaming - lag, stuttering and input lag in CSGO. =

I don't know how long this has been going on but lately it seems to be getting worse and it's really frustrating. My GPU and CPU seem to be locked at around 30-40% each. No matter what, they just won't exceed these amounts while under load. This isn't an issue for the most of my time but while playing some games, CS:GO specifically, it is a real pain in the arse. I struggle to get 150fps, and while playing on a 144hz monitor it's pretty important I get 200fps+. I'm running a GTX 1060 and a Ryzen 1600. I have a friend with an almost identical rig who gets 300fps+ all the time, with no issues and his cpu and gpu usage is close to maxing out.

Here are some pics of the usage/gpu temps while playing. For some reason I can't view my CPU temps anymore. I used to be able to because i made a similar post when I first got this CPU, but they were similar to GPU temps and there were no real issues.

I'm also running 16gb of DDR4, clocked at 2966mhz, an MSI b350 tomahawk, a 600w psu ( Some people have said power may be an issue but I don't think so :/ ) and running the game off an ssd.

Hello,

Make sure in your Windows settings you have "prefer maximum performance" checked. Right click on desktop and go into NVidia control panel and do the same. Remove any overclocks also and see if you get better results. Your power supply certainly is not an issue as NVidia states a 400 Watt PSU is recommended for a 1060. You could also try a clean install of your graphics drivers but choose "clean installation" when prompted. Lastly, run a scan with Malwarebytes if you have not done so.

Seems like your gpu power band needs to be adjusted. Remember your gpu does most of the work during gameplay. So if your gpu is running slow/low so will your cpu. Use msi afterburner and use a mild overclock setting and see if this helps. Also run task manager to see if something is running behind the scenes while gaming.
