Realtek AC' 97 AUDIO Driver probem

Ok so when I boot into windows I get the proper prompt that my soundcard driver realtek AC' 97 does not have the proper software. It appears that windows will automatically guide me through the steps. I go to install the driver from a recommended place and halfway through the installation I get a blue screen. Let it also be know that I recently reinstalled windows. I have 4 Gigs of RAM and plently of hard drive space. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?

Device Manager: Update audio driver. If that doesn't solve it, go to computer manufacturer and redownload audio for your computer model.
