I have been trying to separate the headphone and speakers in settings and i haven't had luck. Everywhere I look when it comes to tutorials has either different setting or I'm missing something they want me to have. I'm on a hp laptop with realtek audio. Some websites talk about a yellow folder in realtek or more choices but i legit don't have that. There's also the fact that on some websites the audio is hd in settings where in my device manager it doesn't say that. Another problem is when I do get the audio manager (it's not on my laptop until i download it myself) the speakers and headphones play at the same time at all times until i take it off my computer. I might of come to some luck as i might've figured out that i need another version of the realtek audio manager/realtek audio in general but idk if i can even download/get another version and/or what version to get.

I had the exact same problem on Dell Precision 7540. The RealTek Audio Driver supplied by Dell and the RealTek website combines the speaker and earbuds into a single device for output and input. This is what worked for me. I went to Device Manager to update the Driver and let me select the Driver to install. My computer gave me 2 options. First Option is RealTek Driver and the 2nd one just says HD Audio Driver (which is Microsoft's RealkTek Driver). I installed the Microsoft Driver and rebooted. After I logged in my Sound Icon just says "Speakers Realtek". Then after I plug in the earbuds into the RCA jack, it adds "Headphones RealTek".
