Question Rear Audio Jacks stopping Front Audio Jacks from working

If I unplug front audio jack header from Motherboard, rear audio jacks work but not front obviously. If I plug in front audio jack header into motherboard, front audio jack works but not rear audio jacks.

Had this set up for a while now, didn't use front audio jacks till yesterday which is when I noticed that my front audio jack header wasn't plugged in properly. Once plugged in, above problem.

Not sure what settings that need changing or drivers that need updating. Since both front and rear audio jacks work independently it wouldn't be drivers but a setting somewhere wouldn't it?

Do you have Realtec HD Audio drivers installed an it's control panel ? It's adjustable in it's settings.

I believe so yes, I have found the realtek audio hd control panel but don't really know what I'm looking at. It looks as though its detecting both inputs that I have connected (Headphones front, speakers rear) from front and rear jacks.

In Raeltek control panel, under settings, find and check "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio stream simultaneously."

Some progress but ain't it only a workaround?

That option makes rear output work even with front audio header plugged into motherboard.

Is there an issue though? Isn't board only suppose to detect when a jack is used on the front to stop rear output rather than detect the header being connected and stop rear output.
