Recent Lagging Problem

My computer has been lagging recently. I built it myself this past summer and up until now it has been working great. The game I am running isn't even that taxing. I just finished Wolfenstein and that worked fine, but now everything seems like it is slowing down. I updated my nvidia software and checked Norton for viruses, but there appears to be nothing wrong there. Thoughts?

Go into a high quality game. Use a FPS counter even steam has one. And tell me the FPS! 😀

Wow that was easy! 144 was the highest it got.

Well I finished Wolfenstein and that worked fine and i then booted skyrim right after and it ran slow. Crysis started running slow too and that was working earlier in the day. What's a normal fps?
