Just remember both the motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.

I agree with the suggestions above for a good Z370/90 motherboard.

May I ask why not go for the similar performing Ryzen 5 3600x and budget the extra money to the 2070 super.

Even if you plan on a 5ghz 8700k with a 2070, it would still get outperformed in many cases by a 3700x and 2070 super.

I agree with the suggestions above for a good Z370/90 motherboard.

May I ask why not go for the similar performing Ryzen 5 3600x and budget the extra money to the 2070 super.

Even if you plan on a 5ghz 8700k with a 2070, it would still get outperformed in many cases by a 3700x and 2070 super.

Im kind of a newbie to this but is it possible you can fix my build a little. Appreciate it.

Less money and better performance.

The CPU is about the same as the 8700k, but includes a cooler and can use cheaper motherboards. The 2070 super performs about the same as a 2080.

I am trying to downgrade the cpu if I can save $100 and maintain the same performance, but I cant. Im assuming because of compatible issues. I think Im not going to upgrade to a super to save another $100. Im trying to keep the price around $1000-$1100 and just upgrade later if needed. Can you fix the build one more time please?

Could consider this, you can save more by going B450 board but you need to update BIOS.
Main savings on this one is Super down to 1070, Samsung EVo to 660p and slight MB downgrade (which isn't too worth it from the GB X570 IMO).

This board can have bios updated without a compatable CPU, so no worries here.

This is about the best I can do without dropping the GPU to an RTX 2070 non-super.

Cheaper but decent case.
Slower but cheaper NVME SSD
Cheaper but better PSU

To add, I agree you won't notice the difference between the 660p and 970 unless you do long sustained reads and writes when the 660ps SLC cache fills up.

In other words, you won't notice a difference between the 2 SSDs when gaming or using the computer for internet browsing.

The Ryzen 5 3600 comes with the small AMD Wraith Stealth cooler. Its not the best, but ok.

The Ryzen 5 3600x comes with a faster clock speed and the upgraded Wraith Spire cooler which runs cooler and a bit quieter.
