[SOLVED] Recreating desktop drag and drop icon

Hi all

I've long been an anoymous lurker here, but this is my first post.

Need some help trying to recreate a desktop icon in Win10. We recently had to have a new HD installed at my work station.

The previous HD had an icon on the desktop for a network IP address. I could drag audio files and hover over the icon to upload them to the network.

Now, with the new HD I have to open an Explorer window and drag the files to it.

Is there a way with the latest version of Win10 to recreate that original icon to eliminate the additional window from the desktop?

I think you want to map a network drive - https://kb.netgear.com/19864/How-do-I-map-a-network-drive-in-Windows

and then create a shortcut in the network folder and drag shortcut to desktop.
