Hi all,

I need a help from you guys, could you please advice me to resolve this issue.

When i formatted my hard disk and booted windows 7, i noticed a problem with my recycle bin

we'll its not showing any of delete items at all,I'm sure that i have only clicked my radio button saying "custom size" in the recycle bin properties

I have also tried to run the command rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin in an elevated mode, but when i tried to run the command rd /s /q I:\$Recycle.bin in my I drive i got a message n my command prompt stating that the access is denied.

Please help me to resolve this issue with your guidance.

Awaiting for your response.

Thanks and regards,

Pheonix.

Right click in your desktop recycle bin icon. Go to recycle bin properties and make sure that the option: "Don't move files to the recycle bin." is not checked.

Hi bill,

Thanks for your response.

But i could see that i have not checked the option :"Don't move files to the recycle bin"
Is there a solution to resolve this issue.

Thanks and regards,
Pheonix

Also make sure that the custom size disk space allocated to the recycle bin is large enough for the files you're deleting.

You can try this also:

Go to Start/Run and type in CMD:

Type CD \RECYCLED, and then press ENTER.
Type ATTRIB -r -s -h info2, and then press ENTER.
Type DEL INFO2, and then press ENTER.

This deletes the damaged INFO2 file. Windows will recreate this file as needed, automatically.

Restart.

Hi Bill,

I tried to run the commands in the command prompt and i got a error message.

1st command's error message: The system cannot find the path specified

2nd command's error message : file not found -info2

3rd command's error message : could not find C:\users\users\info2

I don't know what has to be done to fix my problem.

kindly provide a solution to this problem.

Awaiting for your response

Pheonix.

I see. Try this please:

1. Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To open an elevated Command Prompt, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
2. Type the following command and press ENTER: rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin
(This clears out the $Recycle.bin folder from the C:\ partition. You may have to do this for each hard disk partition in your system.)
3. Type exit to close the Command Prompt window.
Now check if the issue still persists or not.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your advice.

I have tried to run the command by changing all the drive name in the elevated command prompt(C,G,H,I,J)

But i got access is denied while tried run the command for "I" drive[ rd /s /q I:\$Recycle.bin].
Then adjusted the security settings by right clicking on the "I" drive (properties) and gave full access to the users(users-PC).
now, when it try to run the command now, I got the error message as

"The system cannot find the path specified"

and i exited the command prompt.

but my problem still persists.

NOTE : previously when i tried to run the command "sfc /scannow" command , i got a error message as windows could not repair some corrupted files something like this.

* Also when i tried to uninstall the Facry game i got an error message as "you don't have sufficient access to uninstall farcry 3,Please contact your system administrator"

I got freaked out since i'm the only one using my PC.

I really appreciate for trying to resolve my issue.

Could you please provide a solution for this.

Awaiting for your response.

Regards,
Pheonix.
