my motherborad chrased a coupel of weeks ago, i ordered a new on and put it ind today but
the Dram lights red

so i was wondering if it should do that even if i have no ram in my sockets.
and would Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL9 be a replacment if it is the ram that is the problem

i tryed to check it here but got my self confused https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97PRO_GAMER/HelpDesk_QVL/

rig consists of

asus b85 pro gaming
nvidea gtx 770
i7 4770
right now i have kingston hyper x beast 2133 Hz ram

Solution
The 4770 is supported out of the box. No need for a BIOS update: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85PRO_GAMER/HelpDesk_CPU/
still have a red light with one block in and it does not matter what socket
but i think the ram that i have is incompatebel with the motherboard

thats why i orderd som Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL9 but im confused about QVL so im not sure they are compatibel

dont think its the cpu, the hole system runs fine i just dont get anny picture on screen

dont have acess to anny ohter ram right now but the corsair rams will proberbly be here in a couple of days

i know how i damged the motherboard and i dont think the cpu would have taken anny damge, unless it took damge when i power on the computer while the motherboard was broken.

Oh new ram is already on the way and CPU has no warranty it is nearly two year's old

The manufacturer or supplier of your computer system generally provides a warranty. Check the warranty documentation that came with your system, or contact your computer manufacturer or place of purchase for warranty coverage information. (taken from your link)

and i know the law in denmark where i live says 2 years and if they whant to, they could just say that i broke the cpu and i wloud have to pay for a new one. so if its the cpu i think ill buy a cheaper model with the same scoket

so i just got my new ram didnt work, guess it is the cpu then.
looked at the motherboad and the bios rev number says 1.01, could the probelm be that i need to update my bios

well i checked if the motherboard had anny bend pins ind the cpu hup and it didnt so i put the cpu back in a pressed the power button, noticed that the cpu LED blicks red and then the dram LED just goes solid red so im pretty sure it's is the cpu now i will put this as the solution when i get a new cpu and check if it works.
