Reformatting a corrupted ssd

Hello everyone,

Recently, I have built a system with a Samsung 840 evo 1tb. I built it, installed os, it worked fine. Then, I installed the drivers for mobo, graphics card, etc. when I went to windows update to upstate windows, it went ton an Infinite loop of checking for updates. I went to restart, and it stayed there for a while as well. I tried turning it off from the power button, but that didn't work. Finally, I pulled the power chord. However, when I tried to turn it on, it brand me to the windows 8/8.1 blue screen of death, and at the bottom it said WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR . I went into the uefi bios and it detected all of my devices. I think the problem is in my ssd.

can you take a shot of your bsod....will need the stop codes to know exactly what is happening

Also, it sometimes goes into loops where it goes to the bsod for a second, then restarts the cycle of rebooting.

can go to the system error memory dump for the detailed report????

also double check with the event viewer

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR means fatal hardware error...what is your full system specs??????????

Mobo: asus Maximus VI Formula
Vid card: asus gta 780 ti
Ssd: Samsung 840 evo 1 tb
Psu: corsair ax860i

I tried secure erasing the ssd, but the ssd didn't show up in asus secure erase

you have the os itself in your ssd.....why not clean install the os itself instead of just erasing it, you will get the option to format your drive there.

that should work. also many a times a bios update does the trick. see if you have any luck doing that.

I tried clean installing, but every time I try, it goes straight to the windows startup logo, afterwards it has the spinning icon before bringing me back to the bsod.

Another piece of data that might help: While I was updating the asus asmedia driver, the driver froze up. Could this have caused my mobo to go bad?

Also, when it goes to th bsod, it displays for a second, then reboots.

are you not using the intel sata controller for your ssd???

I just did, the ssd could be erased and displayed in the bios. When I tried to reinstall, however, the same thing happens, only this time the bsod is in English. Happens even after I erased.

how does the language of your copy of windows change?????

I don't know, before the erase it was in Chinese, after it was in English. Could it be because after I installed the os the first time, I installed an English language pack?

I realized it was a motherboard software problem, pressed the reset CMOS switch on the back io and it worked. Thanks though
