Hi just wanted to ask a quick question.

Would you say 120FPS with 120Hz refresh rate is better or worse then...

120FPS with 240Hz Refresh rate.

Thanks.

Monitors with higher refresh rates have lower input lag and reduced blur when there are fast moving objects on-screen, but if you aren't hitting the advertised refresh rates in games, there is little benefit. If you're playing at 120FPS on a 240Hz display, you aren't any worse off from a 120Hz display. However, you may see benefits outside of games, like navigating your desktop, reading webpages, or scrolling through browser tabs. The more responsive and fluid feel of a higher refresh rate display may be more appealing to you in those cases.

What turtletarget says is true. But I would go with the 120hz display simply on the basis that you'd be saving a lot more money. Money you could put towards a nice IPS or OLED panel instead if that's your thing. Like he said, if your computer isn't keeping up, there's little benefit in a high refresh rate.

The only real advantage 240hz on 120fps has over just 120hz is since it refreshes faster your screen tears will not last as long and thus be less noticeable, but at such a high refresh rate that probably is not a concern to begin with.

Most monitors able to do 240hz or higher, you can lock it to 120hz, usually is in between options for that, If you want to save money and only care 120hz, then 120hz monitor will be cheaper, 240hz is nice if you plan to keep the monitor for a few system upgrades to push further towards 240hz.

I guess for me it would depend on the price before I would jump for the 240hz. But thats just me and im not super competitive anymore, im old now lol.

Good Luck!

Well my monitor is those Asus QM with a rtx 2070 card so to get 240hz with 240fps with a 2070 card is not easy unless it's older retro games.
