Reinstalling Windows 10 Won't Work! (Hard drive issue)

In short, I tried to add my old hdd to my new computer because my new computer's ssd ran out of space. I also probably deleted something important when uninstalling to make room on the ssd. I believe the only solution at this point is to reinstall Windows 10, but even that leads to a frozen screen for me:

(The first one comes up after selecting UEFI usb drive, the other comes up when I select just the name of the hard drive)

I received some troubleshooting options from someone on the Microsoft site, and responded with pictures as I tried each thing.

Please help! Have no idea what to do from here 🙁

what was on the hdd? did it ever have windows on it?

so you have a win 10 installer?

what motherboard do you have? you probably need to turn off secure boot in the bios to get it to even see the USB. What boot method is it set to?

MSI motherboards might also have fast boot set which ignored all USB devices except Mouse/KB at boot, so turn it off as well.

The motherboard recognizes the usb drive, and the hdd has windows 7 on it. I think I accidentally did not select the usb drive when installing the iso file. I’ll double check

Thanks for checking in. I made sure the windows installer was on the flash drive but when I booted to the usb drive

It gives me this on the first Sandisk option. Here, the screen is frozen.

And this for the second Sandisk option. Again, it is frozen

Do you have prepared your installation media properly? UEFI/Legacy BIOS issues maybe.

If your Windows is messed up, prepare a fresh installation media, connect only the drive where you want to install Windows and then proceed. When you first select the installation media, the booting process moves data from the installation media (your USB drive) to the system memory (RAM). So, the problem could be with either of these two, and most likely the former. Use a different USB drive, or a DVD while installing.

Let me try using a different USB drive
