Hey all I recently got given a radeon 6950 2gb. It has all the cooler etc, apart from the heatskink and cooler are off of the actual card, and one of the fans has been removed. I need to know if it will be possible to get this up and running again?

Solution
Probably messing around with a stock cooler will be more trouble than it's worth, especially if parts are missing-are you sure ALL the fixing screws are present? They're difficult to source unless you have a friendly 'mom and pop' local computer store who can help you out for example.
If the parts are all present, what about this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835119167 Just take out the other fan, stick it over the existing cooler-bam! job done.

you should check out GPU aftermarket cooling. I had a fan go out on a 5850, and bought an Antec aftermarket cooler and heat sinks to go on it. Worked fine, and it was actually quieter than the OEM cooler on the card. you'll just have to find the right cooler for your card, which at least on Antec's website they tell you what it's compatible with.
