[SOLVED] Replaced processor, now my computer doesn't start! - please help

I recently changed my cpu from an AMD a10 9700 to an AMD ryzen 3 3200g. After I had replaced the cpu and installed the fan that came with the 3200 I tried to turn on my pc.

Everything seemed fine as the computer was whirring, the fans were spinning and the LEDs were alight. But, nothing would show up on the monitor, just a black screen. The monitor is definitely on and I'm certain I installed everything correctly. My motherboard is compatible with the cpu and my power supply has enough power for the processor.

This is the first time I have changed or installed anything to a pc as I am new to it but I'm sure I installed everything correctly.

Please help I'm losing my mind.

Did you update motherboard BIOS to compatible version with the new cpu?

As above, the issue is almost certainly a BIOS upgrade. But knowing all the parts might lead to other issues.

I have an asus prime a320m-k, and I did not update the BIOS, how do I go about this?

You have to update BIOS to version 4801 or later for the new cpu.

Reinstall old cpu,
perform BIOS update,
install new cpu.
