I've been using Sidewinder x8 for almost 3 years now and wanted to replace it because of the wheel issues (sometimes it scrolls 1 dial up or down randomly) and signal interference problem (rarely it looses connection with receiver or stutters).

So i've bought Logitech G700s mouse and found out that i didn't like it at all - some buttons were too close to press and others too far, it lacked sensitivity and precision of Sidewinder and i could in fact move it slowly across mousepad without cursor registering its movements at all. I also didn't like its charger cable. I've returned it yesterday.

Is there a mouse with the same sensitivity as microsoft's "blue track" laser, charger which clips easily and at least 2 programmable side buttons?

I'd recommend the R.A.T 5. It may look like it's really hard to use and hold, but it's not. There are 3 Programmable buttons on the side. And, the sensitivity is completely adjustable with their special software that is included with the mouse. Also, below the scroll wheel, there is a button that you can click up or down to amp up or amp down your sensitivity on the fly. I use this a TON in Battlefield 4, for example I amp up the sensitivity when I'm in a tank so I can aim more quickly, and lower it when I'm fighting on the ground.

You may also want to check our some of Razers mouses too (Anything but the Deathadder), as I know all of their mouses are programmable to every extent as well.

Hope I helped 😀

R.A.T. 5 is a corded mouse. I don't use corded mice anymore since cords tend to split and break every year or so. My logitech g9 was devastated just after 2 years of use - cord broke in two places.

I thought about buying R.A.T. 9 but it seems weird, overcomplicated and overpriced. I suspect it gets dirty very quickly and is hard to clean. Their other device called M.O.U.S. uses bluetooth which will probably interfere with my router, ipad and iphone.

As to Razer mice - they tend to have poor user reviews and their prices start from 200$ which seems like a lot for a weird looking greenish things.

At the moment im considering either Logitech G602 (can't be charged with a cord but it uses some different kind of laser) or GIGABYTE Aivia Uranium which can be charged with a cord but has conventional laser and unnecessary LCD monitor.

Okay, I can understand that. Thing is, the RAT cord is quality. It's sleeved, Unless your pulling the cord with severe force, nothing will happen to it. The mouse may look confusing, but it's not. It's what I thought at most. And I'm surprised you like wireless mouses considering your a gamer, ghosting is more noticeable. And not buying a mouse because your afraid the cable may break is NOT a good reason, at all. And lets say your cable does break. The mouse is not very expensive (60$ or so). And it has a 3yr warranty depending on where you buy it. I bought mine on Amazing and got a 3yr warranty for 5$.

Also, your completely wrong about Razer mouses. They do not start at 200$. In fact, none of their mouses come close to 200$ except their ouroboros mouse. But, your right on one thin, many of them do have poor reviews. I returned my Razer Deathadder 2013 for the R.A.T. 5, it was a good decision.

For some reason Razer mice cost more here than on Amazon or in US in general and warranty usually lasts only for a year. Guess ill just have to wait for microsoft to revive their gaming equipment production or a new logitech mouse.

I realize I'm bumping this but if you are waiting on Microsoft, I would recommend stop waiting. They made it pretty clear after the X8 that they were getting out of the gaming mouse business. I really love the X8 and bought 3 of them before they DC'd them. (I still have one in a box but sorry no, it's not for sale.) I am considering a change as well but I have no desire to have 12 buttons on the side of my mouse nor do I like the smaller mice with buttons placed for people with tiny hands. So, I understand your dilemma. I do agree with Spinny though the Rat seems like a pretty good mouse and it is comfortable.

I am surprised you didn't like the Logitech. My GF has that one and after gaming with it for a while I actually felt akward on my X8 and decided I liked the Logitech (though not enough to give up my X8 yet.)

As far as the "Ghosting" or skipping issue with wireless mice, I have never had an issue with the X8 or the Logitech but some people swear it happens. For latency Microsoft solved that mostly by keeping the mouse on all the time. IE, it never turns itself off to save batteries so it's always waiting for a command. A lot of wireless mice are built to save batteries. That is bad for gaming. The Logitech does that also but there is a setting you can adjust I think with 3 settings. Something like, battery saver, normal, and extreme. Sorry it's not an outright answer but I'd hate to see you waiting on Microsoft when I clearly remember reading that they were no longer going to continue their Sidewinder line.

After i returned logitech's G700s, i bought G602 and it turned out to be almost the same as Sidewinder X8 apart from not having a charger. Didn't have any issues either and battery's seem to last for weeks.

The buttons aren't as comfortable to use in games as i would've preferred but then again - Sidewinder only had 2 extra buttons, while this one got 8.

Its good enough and i am not waiting for Sidewinder anymore. Thanks for replying anyway :)
