So I found this old D630 in my closet, and the monitor was in pretty bad shape. To put it bluntly, it doesn't work at all. When I used to use this laptop it was dropped which cracked the screen and put some huge black blobs on the screen permanently. (Dead pixels I guess.) The screen used to work for a little while after that, though obviously with the black spots covering most the screen. Eventually the screen gave up though, and no picture was coming through, though the laptop still started up fine. That's when that laptop got put in the closet and I bought a new one.

Years later I pulled it back out of my closet with the intention of repairing it. I ordered a replacement lid- its the entire lid of the laptop along with the screen and hinges because I ended up breaking all of that while taking the laptop apart. I'm worried that even with the replacement screen I'm still not gonna get a picture. Can anyone tell from what I said if its only the screen that went out or the graphics card as well? Or possibly something else?

Thats good to hear. Unfortunately for me I don't have a way to hook it up to a monitor so I'll just have to wait until the screen comes in. One more thing I want to ask, I just realized my particular D630 came with a WXGA screen, and the one I ordered is a WXGA+. Will this be a problem?
