Replacing MB with a identical one but with diffrent OS?

Hi everyone, i have a homebuilt computer and i am 99% sure tht the MB is fried.. one day it just wouldnt start.. it is lights in the start button, reset, OC and unlock on the MB but when i hit start nothing happends.. and its only light in those 4 buttons..

i have a Asus crosshair IV Formula.. and my friend have the exact same MB and hes CPU is broken and he cant be botherd to fix his computer.. so i was wondering about borrowing his MB and check to make sure tht its the MB.. but his computer had Windows 7 and mine had Vista.. will this be a problem? or will the Vista sort things out by itself?

or it may be the PSU?
what do u guys think? im thinking it cant be the psu since there is lights on the MB but ofc it can be the PSU tht crash under load..

i might buy my friends MB and PSU.. if i can replace without any problems
