Replacing monitors (two)

Hello, I'm going to be replacing two monitors today on a windows vista desktop system for a friend. Dual monitors already connected, but replacing with new, better quality monitors.

Thinking this should be easy - just unplug old, plug in new, make sure drivers all set, etc., make sure dual display working and voila.

But thought I'd ask first (never done this before) to see if there are any pitfalls I should be looking out for, etc..

Check the resolution of the system to make sure it matches the monitors.

Set them up, thought all was well but the resolution SAYS it's at 1920 x 1080 but a) the desktop "image" is falling off the left side of screen and b) it keeps giving me a message to change the resolution to 1920 x 1080, but it already is!!

Did you reboot the PC after installing the monitors? Also look for an auto-adjust setting on the monitors, and set the refresh rate to 60 if these are LCDs
