Anyone THAT uneducated is not building a pc. You just have to be educated enough to google search a review of the card you are considering buying, and the first few paragraphs will problem mention its a rebadge. There's no tricks involved, and there isn't even always a premium. The 280x is a slightly underclocked 7970 and it launched at a cheaper price than the 7970. I feel like this argument is made just because people like seeing brand new gpu's and are bored by only seeing a couple new gpu's every series. This isn't entertainment guys, its computer hardware. It still gets the job done.Rebadging tricks uneducated people into thinking that those rebadged units are new in some way and those rebadges usually carry a premium for a while just because of their new name. Personally, I consider it a dishonest or at the very least questionable business practice. Same goes for mobile parts that borrow model numbers from desktop parts a few rungs higher on the performance ladder. The misleading numbering practices cause tons of completely unnecessary confusion.jin_mtvt :What does it change if it is a re-badge or not ?
