Nvidia cannot compete with true audio and Mantle because the most popular game will be BF4 and their Mantle patch will leave Nvidia users in the dark Mantle will eliminate the overhead from DX11 allowing direct access to the GPU unlike the Nvidia card's plus AMD has the leverage due to the console win's

Swear I'm going to go on a homicidal rampage if I hear one more fanboy say in their pre-puberty voice "but consolesssssss are going to be AMDDDDDD". Bitch please, you see those Steam hardware charts? Yeah, majority is Nvidia. Devs aren't going to shit on the majority brand regardless of what's going on with consoles.

And the most popular GPU is the integrated HD 3000 followed by the HD 4000. When looking at market share including integrated graphics, AMD is well ahead of Nvidia.... By your logic, developers should favor Intel :pt1cable:

I understand your point and i also think amd is the future. Someday we will look back and think, why the hell did i put a big block on my pc if my cpu can handle it.

Nice try smoke screening with "most popular card", but NV has 52% overall , Intel has 14%, and AMD has 33% on the current Steam hardware charts: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey . Nvidia also has 6 cards in the top 10 overall usage and AMD has none.

So again, devs aren't going to crap on the majority PC market player as it would be a stupid business decision.

We won't know until benchmarks are out. The vibe was it is very price/power competitive with 780, so we'll see.

Nvidia not cutting price now is simply because the new AMD cards are not in market yet.

In all honesty, I could imagine Nvidia not even lowering prices. They seem to price gouge a few of their cards and while yes they are very good cards, the AMD r9-290X has a new appeal, if the rumors of its specs being true. However, this does not and will not get a definite price drop on Green Team.

nvidia is in trouble. And I love it. Such an arrogant company. AMD will win the GPU wars because now their setup is in all next gen consoles and gains for that will ripple down to PC level. Go AMD!

nvidia isnt in trouble, they have been able to make more profit on their gpu's for years now compared to AMD, who like to run their company at a loss. This is a desperation move by AMD, and Mantle will probably be more buggy than AMD's current drivers upon release, probably won't even work in a dual card config, at least not without a fair amount of micro-stutter and dropped frames. But hey, lets wait and see rather than bitch about things that no one knows for sure yet huh?????

I just wish they pull the price down and stop offering free crappy games....

Got dungeon siege 3, duke nukem forever and call of duty modern warfare just laying around, sooooo not worth playing.

I like the free to play ingame currency though, They should leave you the choices on what game you would like to spend it in. Planetside FTW, but not for warframe... WTF ?

there won't be any cards in-between the 670/760 and 680/700, there is no point. there will however be a gk110 based 770ti/770boost and likely a Titan Ultra, and of course a 660ti/750whatever, but nobody cares about cards less than that.

Thats funny considering the majority of gamers are on Console. And the 3 major players are now using AMD hardware. " I swaer to dog that imma go on dat homesidull raympaegh eef anudda nvidia fanboi says 'If I hear anudder amd fanboi saez things' Give me a break.

1536 Kepler cores @ ~1GHz (680/770) ≈ 2048 GCN cores @ ~1GHz (7970)

Uncrippled GK110 has 2880 cores, Hawaii has 2816. It's just an assumption, but the cynic in me doesn't believe that GCN 2.0 will be enough of an improvement to make up for the deficit in hardware (if Hawaii even is GCN 2.0...). Perhaps full GK110 would be bottlenecked by the 384 bit memory interface? I'm hoping for the best, I'd like to see AMD succeed.

Good for us. also the 2 cards I predict are the 770 ti (760 ti not possible, too small gap between 760 and 770) and the 750 ti (compete with r9 270x possibly)?

AMD did do something smart. They jumped on the Console market. They are supplying the processor and video card for all the next gen consoles. Thats a good move.As for the desktop market? The writing is on the wall for it. Its going to fade out to another platform all together.
