Well, it seems like XFX might not be alone in this as I haven't seen any of Nvidia's GTX 470's or 480's being offered by Saphire either. Seems as though this issue may be one where the Nvidia 470 / 480 chips might be running a little too hot for anyone to want to offer warranties on. It's a guess but my guess is it's a heat/cost/reliability/RMA avoid issues that are the things that are being considered. Anyone opting for Nvidia cards with either of these chips should seriously think of 3rd party water coolers which will VOID their warranties. Catch 22 that I'll avoid until Nvidia comes up with their own way of cooling these cards down so there is a warranty. Let's face it, these Nvidia cards are not easy to get serviced, repaired or replaced in a timely manner. The cost should improve these issues but it hasn't and as long as people buy them with these issues, Nvidia card producers will not improve on them.

You couldn't have said it better. I think nognlite should win some kind of THG Award - either worst luck of the year or Most Burnt Out GPUs by a User or Worst Abuse of GPU Warranties by a User.

How do you RMA six GPUs , no make that 7, in 18 months? I can understanf a voltage spike or lightning strike taking out some parts but usually the PSU or mobo but specifically just GPUs? Oh! (*lighbulb sound clicking on*) those were NVidia GPUs. Then don''t blame XFX if Nvidia gave them a bad batch. Maybe it's one reason XFX isn't supporting Fryme I mean Fermi.

Your right, my mistake. But it still is bad way to do business.

That be like Sony saying you can have 20 PS3, but you also have to buy 40 PS1 and 40 PS2.

It just wrong.

What kind of idiotic, mindless, drooling ATI fanboy douchebag actually thinks Nvidia failing is a good thing for them? Do they think if Nvidia fails forever and ATI no longer has competition that it will be a good thing? Idiotic tools.

[citation][nom]bigrigross[/nom]Nvidias not going anywhere.[/citation]
You'll never say never again if you're familiar with the mighty 3Dfx.......

Not to mention, ATI came dangerously close several years back.

Or maybe, just maybe, that's because Sapphire is an exclusive ATI partner and they don't make anything from nVidia?

Oh to be a fly on the wall during the discussions between XFX and nVidia...

Xfx will sell Fermi down the road , when Fermis thermal issues improves.

i wonder how much money Nvidia cost XFX when they releases those bad drivers that fried Nvidia cards. I bet they had a day when those drivers were released.

[citation][nom]lauxenburg[/nom]XFX seems knows what they are doing...I wouldn't be shocked if Nvidia filled for bankruptcy within the next 5 years. Their products have been shockingly down the drain lately.[/citation]

thats the same thing everyone said about AMD and ATI a few year ago with the Phenom/HD2xxx/HD3xxx fiasco, but they rise from the ashes with kick-ass marketing strategy, setting new rules for the market. nvidia will get back on the horse and prices will fall again and we all win. maybe even S3 will come back to the game, that would be AWESOME in kinda tired that we only have 2 choices...

I depends on GTX 480 and GTX 470 is or isn't overpriced. Usually people will boycott overprice stuff. No risk is better. By the way i didn't say GTX480 or GTX 470 is overprice.
