I got a ridiculous deal on a used PC and have been using it all summer. I discovered that the person that built this may not have done everything right on the install. I powered it all down and took out the RAM last night to verify that was installed in the right slots, reinstalled them, then powered on the PC. I did commit the sin of not unplugging the PSU.

Immediately, the PC power cycled 3-4 times (I did not count) then stayed on, but did not POST. There is absolutely no display and Caps/Scroll Lock don't work.

All RGB, USB ports, and fans work, there has been zero rapid power cycling since the initial start. Cable and monitor is known good. Tried HDMI & DP as well as swapping out GPU with my old one. PSU is two months old.

So far I have:
  • Removed the CMOS battery overnight
  • Removed CMOS for 5+ minutes and held the power button down to discharge caps
  • Jumped the pins to reset CMOS
  • Tried individual sticks of RAM in various spots
  • Tried all sticks of RAM in the various locations
  • Let the computer run for a bit to see if it will Post
  • Powered on with no RAM
  • Removed all unnecessary peripherals
I'm stumped. The only thing I can think of is that I fried the MOBO. I will be getting a case speaker this afternoon if a solution hasn't been found.

The good-ish news is I was planning on upgrading when the Ryzen 7000 series comes out in a couple weeks, but it's a bummer to not have my PC until then.
