Resolution problem with samsung monitor

Hi everyone i just bought my new PC about 4 months ago.I bought a new Samsung 23 inch monitor with full hd 1080p.
But when i connected it via my graphic card 5770 it just maximized to 1680*1050 while my friend bought the same monitor but he can increase it to 1920*1080 via 9600gt.

Pls guys help me out.........

If your using win 7 just right click and choose screen resolution, try doing it manually see if 1920 x 1080 is available

Yes it is available but the screen get shorter and not fully fit in the screen........

Try checking your monitor manual see if you can find there auto configure or go directly at the menu buttons on your LCD and try adjusting the screen
