I fromated and install Windows OS accintently in my external ssd that I used to run apps like android studio causing to lose important projects.Is there anyway to restore this files back?

You reformatted and installed an OS on this drive, and wish to recover "important projects"?

Highly unlikely.

You may be able to find file names, or unusable file fragments.
The entire actual projects? Not a chance.


This is why:

1. Backups are a crucial thing.
2. Installing an OS needs to be done with only ONE drive physically connected.

SSD's don't work the same way as spinning drives. Once a file is deleted or written over it's gone. Forever.

Normally SSDs would be affected by TRIM, but support for TRIM (UNMAP) in external enclosures varies. In any case I would clone the drive and run data recovery software against the clone.

BTW, I would avoid scanning the SSD directly. Doing so may only invoke the internal processes related to TRIM.
