[SOLVED] RGB/Fan Controller connection question.

My Motherboard (Z170A PC MATE) Doesnt have a RGB header
So i looked up some RGB controllers and found one called "Lamptron Fan And RGB LED Controller CFM36"
I was curious if u could connect the RGB wire from the cooling fan, to the controller
And the Fan wire, to the Motherboard

And will everything still work fine

Fan name: Cooler Master MasterFan MF120R RGB R4-C1DS-20PC-R1
or
Fan name: Xilence XF062 RGB Fan 120mm XPF120RGB

You are fine. Both of fans are the regular RGB type ( 12V/G/R/B) . More info from Lamptron: http://www.lamptron.com/Products/fancontroller/96.html

From the 2nd picture next to the remove controller, you can see it has 3x RGB headers for RGB fan, two more for the RGB strip. And you need to power it with 4-pin Molex cable from PSU. Also the RGB fan has two cables, one for power, for the CFM36, which has only 3-pin. Other one for RGB light, which is the 4-pin ( 12V/G/R/B).

All you to do: connect the CFM36 to the MB pci slot, connect the 4-pin molex power cable, connect the fan power cable and the RGB cable to the CFM36. And use the remove controller.

If the fan have 4-pin power cable ( no the 4-pin 12V/G/R/B one), you can connect it to the 3pin header like this: https://allpinouts.org/img/connector_mbfanpwm_3to4pin.png
