I have a windtunnel IV case from coolerguys.com and am prettty happy with it. It has 2 80mm case fans on the side, 1 80mm case fan on top of the case. 1 80 mm fan in the lower front of the case. and 1 80 mm fan on the back of the case. When all these fans are running I get great temps, 39C cpu and 26C case temps, but it is too loud for me. So what I did was removed the case fan in the lower front, and turned off the 2 side fans. I also replaced the Delta that came on my Vantec 6501D hsf with one off of a coolermaster which quieted down my computer considerably. I still get temps of around 43-44C cpu and 29C case temps with only the one fan on top and the rear fan both blowing out of the case. (plus the fans on my enermax 450) What I am wondering is if I got a rheostat and hooked up all the 80mm case fans (minus the one that was on the front because I dont believe it gets much airflow anyways) and turned down the RPM's so they were all running at a lower (ie quieter) speed if I could get better cooling at a lower sound level. I am willing to try this but need some information on what type of rheostat to get and where I could get it from? I think I need a 12 volt DC rheostat? can I get one at my local hardware store? or will I need to order a special one online or somthing? I have already looked into the BayBus solution, but I think I will be ok with only 1 rheostat to control all the 80 mm fans and let the cpu hsf fan run at full speed (its pretty quiet anyways)

So basically I simply need to know what rheostat TO get and where to get it, Any other ideas on my setup would be appreciated....

Get the rheostat from pcmods.com .... I've had good experiences with them.
