I have been getting bsod’s whenever I plug a mouse in some of the usb ports. I am not the expert at the crash reports but they say that the likely problem is pimou.sys., which is a program called plural input mouse. Second hand pc, maybe previous owner or by mistake it got in. I understand it may be a defective uninstall. This doesn’t show in programs or drivers. Most of the searches just send me to people that want to install their cleaner and of course charge me a bunch to mess around in my pc. One place said this program has malware to it. I’m not sure of that, may just be their sales pitch. One MS post said to install it so it could be uninstalled properly. I want to make sure of what I am doing and not make things worse. Anyone know how to get rid of the remnants of this and maybe fix my bsod’s? Thanks.

W7 64 bit. I know this pc didn't used to have this problem, but I don't know exactly when it started. Something about this is familiar. I think I may have seen "plural mouse" somewhere when I was looking at the space sniffer display of my HD files. It may be, or partially on this pc somewhere.

I may be able to get a pic of it if you need it, but it may be tough. Maybe this will work: Here is the ID from the crash report I generated: BugCheck 1000007E, {f f f f f f f f 80000003, f f f f f 88008a79095, f f f f f 88002fef008, f f f f f 88002fee860}. Probably caused by : pimou.sys ( pimou + 8095). (that was fun wouldn't let me copy).

I can click the !analyze –v button and get a large report from what I gave you there. I will try to condense it down smaller so I can paste it here right after this post.

I have done scans recently and regularly do them. I use avira full time. Just now for this I did malwarebytes (0), superantispyware (a few typical cookies) and avira (still running. I'll message in about 8 hours if it shows anything.) scans. I have run chk dsk and sfc /scannow several times recently. I have been getting this pc tuned up for use after it sat with a bad HD. Works great other than this glitch.

Oh shoot forgot to try ctrl A, V. That will copy these things. It's pretty large to paste here unless that is what you want. Can you tell me which specifics on that you may need or is there a way to submit that as a file here or do I have to do that with a separate file service? So if you need this or maybe you have a different way to get info out of this pc. Thanks.

Ok, Avira all done. Zero there.

Anyone have any ideas here? I think that if I could get a clean download of this plural input mouse program I would then be able to properly remove it. Or maybe use something like revo uninstaller to get whatever is left of this? I need to get this fixed. Thanks for any help.

I installed this companies driver and used Revo to uninstall it and then restarted. Didn't help. The program did work after I installed it. Maybe I need to restart after I install is also.

Here is all the codes etc the blue screen says when it is on:
0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFF80000003, 0xFFFFF8800B25C095, 0xFFFFF880031EF008, 0xFFFFF880031EE860) pimou.sys - Address FFFFF8800B25C095 base at FFFFF8800B254000, Datestamp 5299a04

It sure seems like the crash report and this blue screen info is telling me there is some part of this program still in my system and interfering in my usb operation. Maybe I need to uninstall my regular mouse driver and reinstall it. Maybe it's corrupted from the plural mouse driver.

How did you manage to fix it in the end? I have the exact same problem and I've been forced to use my laptop's touchpad for around a year. It would be great if you could help me fix it, thanks.

Hey there. I’m glad I noticed your response here to help you out.

Anyway like I said blue screen crashes and it would mention pimous.sys (plural mouse) in the crash report. I had kind of remembered seeing those words (plural mouse) on a file I had deleted a while back. One of those mess with something you shouldn’t deals. It was that program that I think I had put in a couple years ago and forgot about so didn’t recognize it, but now it was “uninstalled” improperly. Anyway the programmer of the program was very helpful to rid my pc properly of all remnants of the program. He’s a real nice guy Christian Gulden. The website is https://pluralinput.com/. There is a place to put in a message (comments/suggestions) on the bottom of the page and he will get back to you. It took a couple days because he wanted to first do a scan of drivers and delete those and ultimately there were some remnant files to delete he found. I’d recommend it with his help so you don’t mess things up like I can sometimes!

Boy I can feel the pain, I cannot deal with touchpads. I always use a laptop with separate mouse, keyboard and even monitor if I can. Of course when you can’t you can’t and of course they are sure useful when you need to be portable. Good luck there, I’ll leave you to him. Fred

Thanks very much! My issue is definitely to do with pimou.sys, and I'm getting the same error codes as you, so I'll try and get in touch with Christian Gulden.

I got used to the touchpad after a while, but now I'm getting a BSOD whenever I launch the calibration software for my Logitech USB steering wheel, so that's pretty much unusable. Hopefully I'll finally be able to fix all this with the programmer's help!

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

You're sure welcome. I have been on the "helped" end for years and now I am able to help some others at times and it's great. The one I had on my other pc I had been really loving was an explorer crash any time I opened any video file!! I couldn't play any of my videos until it seemed to fix itself after many scannow runs or maybe just a windows self fix or something. You should be fine when Christian helps you.
