Rimage Everest Disc Tray Not Opening?

Hi,
I may have a problem! I bought a used Rimage Everest 1 printer, and dont nothing about it accept it prints disc lables. I have not recieved the Ink Ribbons yet so I cant test it out yet. My problem in reading the Manual is it's say all you have to do to open the disc tray is press the power butten once and to close press it again. Well its not opening and am wondering why not? Does it need ribbons. I checked the Status moniter and it says no errors just missing the ink ribbons. so please someone out there let me know if there might be something wrong so i can get my money back! Thank You

make sure the shipping screw has been removed. It's on the back panel towards the bottom.
