Question Rog 4080 Super vs Rog 4090

I have the oppurtunity to aquire either of these cards.
1) $1300 - ROG Strix 4080 Super OC white - Brand New, still in sealed container
2) $1700 - ROG Strix 4090 OC White - 1 year old, used, original receipt.

Option 1 is a 5 minute drive, option 2 is a 3 hour drive.

Which should i go with? I don't play many Graphic intense games but future proofing my setup is definitely in my interest.
For reference, i play Escape From Tarkov as my main FPS game. This game requires more CPU + Ram than GPU in general.

No. Because you'd be able to get a new 5080 for less than that money and it would be almost surely better.

RTX 4080 Super - brand new, sealed (different manufacturer/different models) is ~ $1000 - $1100.
Why would you pay $1300 for this model?
You should be able to get RTX 5080 for similar price a bit later.

4090 now goes for ~$2k. Paying $1700 for used might be acceptable.
But then again new RTX 5080 and 5090 are getting released.
Probably better to wait and see performance reports for new cards first.

And forget about "future proofing". That doesn't work and most of times is pointless.
Spend money only, when performance doesn't meet your requirements.

Option 1 is the retail price of that card. Not really a deal at all. Black one is only $1250. And yes, other models are cheaper still.

I would say the 4090 is reasonable, but only if you feel the need for 24GB VRAM today.

What will this three hour drive cost you in terms of money? 6 hour round trip?
