Hi Guys,
Im running into an issue with my PSU it has two 8pin connectors, my motherboard has two 8 pin CPU connectors which use these two up. The mother board also has and 8 pin USB power which i dont have space for on my PSU. So guys this is where i need your help, can i use a 6+2 on that 8pin usb power input under the ATX power input without toasting my MB? Heres the manual for help.

Yes, why not? It's the same like a 8 pin PCIe on a GPU where you use a 6+2 pin connector too.

But what case do you use. SFX and SFX-L have extremely short cables that can't reach the connectors on the motherboard in ATX cases.
Using the RoG Hyperion, and ya i grabbed cable extentions from cablemod for it. i just know your not supposed to use 6+2 for CPU i was not 100% certin if it was ok for any PCIE power or just direct to Graphic cards.

Extensions cause issues, ecspecially with high end hardware. Longer cable and the extra set of connectors makes the voltage to low at the end of the cable. You better order some replacement cables that are just long enough. But why not bought an ATX PSU. It fits easily in the ROG Hyperion and it's cheaper. SFX-L is an odd solution.

Honestly it was an aesthetic choice i wanted the RGB fan. Plus its titanium rated, and the Thor PSU from Asus are not, not a huge fan of the display on them either. Extentions are good as long as they are form a reputible source and correct wire size. You shouldent lose noticible power specially over a few inches if they are to long. I mean your looking at prolly less than 1% power loss due to extra resistance if that. I have cable mod stuff in my current pc and they work great and look amazing! Ill let ya know once i get the graphics card in and her powered up.....iffffffff i can get a 5080 or 90 for under like 4k.... stupid scalpers :)
