Rootkill, can it prevent me from downloading dropbox

I used CCleaner and noticed that the following appeared frequently..rootkit...When I try to download information, I get a error message that a virus is present. McAfee has not indicated a problem....I guess rootkit is a bad thing. A friend suggested that I contact you. I am using windows 7, internet explorer, McAfee. My machine is a Pavilion p7-1141Pc Amd quad-core A8-3800. I am not an accomplished computer user. I have fundamental understanding. Obviously, I cannot download any of the programs to get rid of rootkit. What should I do?

yep that would do it dowload malwayrebytes and run it link http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ note dowlaod the free progams and dowload it on a comptuer and stick it on a cd or flash draves and then run it on the infected computer
