I've been looking for a cheaper psu for my system to replace the 400W PSU that came with my gateway GT5628. I've gutted all the parts from it and replaced it with new parts, only original parts are the case and the psu. I've been trying to OC my AMD x3 435 but I haven't had a whole lot of success, I'm starting to think it may be the PSU.
Are either of these PSUs good?:

my system specs are:
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H mobo
AMD x3 435 cpu
4gb patriot 800mhz ddr2 ram
9600gt oc edition
1 HD, 1 DVD drive

I'm also open to any suggestions in the price range of these PSUs.

ultra lsp are known junk. and while rose will psus have been getting somewhat better lately, they still dont get good recommendations around her. go for a good quality psu from corsair, antec, seasonic, enermax, nzxt, etc, and dont fall for ultra's high pricing-they arent good psus.

and delluser1, i cant be sure of this but i have heard that the cx430 is a re-badged 380w psu. its definitely not a bad psu but i wouldnt recommend it until we get a good review of it from jg or the like. and someone will have to purcahse it because corsair is refusing to send any out for reivew. (methinks they are hiding something)

Like I said, "no review, quality unknown", I'm going on the Corsair name alone, and leaving the tin foil hat in the closet.

Is that wrong of me ? maybe, but I've reccomended Rosewill after a HWS review and had that come back to bite me on 2 seperate occasions.
I have more confidence in the Corsair name and expect no more from the unit than it's designed to be, a low cost power supply.
Having used some pretty low cost units yourself, I would think you would cut Corsair some slack.

That will work,it's way more power than you need, and I've actually used a few..........., OK shovenose ?
