My Linksys e2500 router has been blocking (time out) incoming mail and a few specific web sites.

I can send mail no problem and browse to most pages on the web.

Email client settings are correct.

When I plug my Ethernet cable directly to my modem, I can receive emails and browse to any website.

When I turn router MTU down to 576 from 1500 it enables me to browse to a few blocked web pages but others are still unreachable and email in is still broken.

I updated to latest router firmware, reset modem back to factory defaults and did a hard button reset of router and modem. Didn't help.

Any suggestions?

It is possible you have your router set to use a particular dns server that is not very reliable.
Try changing the DNS setting to google public DNS, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, on the router
Also check the dns settings in windows. As long as it is set to automatic it should pull the settings from the router.

You could also manually set windows to use google public dns.

Having a flaky dns server will cause all of the issues you are having.

Changed the primary & secondary DNS settings as suggested.
W7 IPv4 dns was on auto and i changed manually to same dns.

Same problems. Still having connection issues.

Also, my phone has the same email problems when on the Routers WiFi.
