Hi guys, please help me out I'm currently stuck between which combos should I get. I already have the 2060 Super in hand.. Now I'm very indecisive which mobo+cpu I should get. Either the 2600 with the b450 mobo which save me more than $200, or I should go all out with 3600 and a x570 mobo.

Thank you.

Micro Center also assemble builds, AFAIK.

Some stores that also assemble, can usually update the BIOS for you. Ultimately, that's what they did with a bunch of boards as per that link, so even if they don't have an ITX board ready to go for you, I'm sure they could update it for you.

If I had to guess, you were just unlucky with who you spoke to. Very few X570 mITX boards out there yet..... a store like Micro Center will be smart enough to know they can move some older product (B450) easier if they update the BIOS. I'd be shocked if they don't have B450 mITX boards updated and ready to go.

The IPC gains of 3000 series chips would be beneficial in gaming.

However, 3600 + X570 isn;t your only option.

The cheapest I can see a 2600 + B450 is ~$205:

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($139.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock - B450M-HDV R4.0 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($64.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $204.78
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Vs 3600 + X570, cheapest ~$360

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.00 @ B&H)
Motherboard: ASRock - X570 Pro4 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $358.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Or, a meet in the middle, 3600 + B450 Tomahawk (or a few select others), ~$315:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.00 @ B&H)
Motherboard: MSI - B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.89 @ OutletPC)

That MSI board supports flashing the BIOS without a compatible CPU, as do a few other MSI boards.

Ok, it still costs ~$100 more than a 2600 (or 'saves' you $100 vs the 3600 + X570), but gets you the IPC gains of the 3600 which, for gaming, would be a good choice IMO.

Thank you for helping me out, sorry it's my fault that I forgot to mention, I'm doing an ITX build, which is very limited on the mobo part, my local Microcenter have some pretty good deals on these combos. I would get a b450i with a 3600, but apparently they're not support 3000 series right out of the box, so my only choice is to get a x570i with it. So I guess my question is. Is it worth it spending another $200 for 3600+mobo. Sorry :(

Micro Center has proactively updated select X470 and B450 chipset motherboards to have available to our customers with the release of these new CPUs - these boards which have gone through this process will be disgnated with a sticker on the box indicating Ryzen 3000 Series Compatible. Check with your Micro Center Sales Associate or Knowledge Expert before leaving the store to understand the status of the board you are selecting

If Micro Center are selling them as "bundles", then they will almost certainly have had the BIOS updated - but double check with them .
