Question RTX 2070 Suggestions

Im looking to buy an rtx 2070 but im stuck on choices, for the most part know ive narrowed it down to a couple but im a little concerned. Im deciding between
GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2070 XTREME 8G and the ASUS ROG Strix Geforce RTX 2070 but on the reviews all i see is reports of dead cards and artifacts on screen after a little while. Should i not worry about dead cards because it can happen to any card or is this like a production defect specific to these companys/specific products? Any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance.

The older batch of RTX GPU chips were prone to error/failure. I think the new RTX cards do not suffer from the same fate, IMO. Not fully sure though.
