  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • Msi b450m A
  • Corsair 32gb 3600
  • Be quite! System 9 psu 700w
  • Ssd Samsung evo 500gb
  • Msi R9 380 (from old build aka the reason i need a New gpu)

Well guys just hear me out. I don't know what I should do. Right now I am saving money for a rtx2070 super gaming x3 (3 fans). But as I see it now I should wait and get the rtx3070. Still it is not even released yet. And most of the time it needs time to establish an realiable and stable New series. I just dont want to become overhyped and end up with the wrong GPU.

The rtx3070 is estimated at an price even cheaper then what you would pay for the rtx2070 super gaming x3 right now in the netherlands. Howcome?? Should I believe that or will it be a lot more expensive than the rtx 2070 super gaming x3fans???

And whats up with the power connector???. Is the right power connector to psu cable also given with the gpu?? How will it connect to the psu??

Right now they say 750 watt is recommended for the rtx3070. Do I have to buy a New psu for the rtx3070??

I build my own pc but I am far from a pro so I really could use some help.

My goal is that I can play games (mostly open world games especially elden ring)
On high to ultra on 1080p with stable 60fps

Solution
The 3070 is suppose to be more powerful then the 2080ti, even if the performance is alittle overblown it still will be alot faster then the 2070 Super. So IMO is would be a waste of money to get a 2070 Super at this point.

The power cable is the new 12 pin, almost not PSUs even have it but it's not an issue as all the cards will come with a 12 pin to dual 8 pin adapter.

750 is what is recommended, however like before this is more to account for the wide variety of quality with power supplies. If you have a good 650 watt you should be fine.

The 2070 Super and 3070 are both over kill for 1080P 60 FPS. The 2070 Super is a good 1440P 100+ FPS and teh 3070 most likely will be a good 1440/4k 100/144FPS card. Do yourself a favor and...

  1. It uses a normal 8 pin power connector.
  2. The recommended power supply is 650 watt, which is the same as for the 2070 Super.

Don't look at the price nVidia is stating. You buy from EVGA or MSI etc you pay 300 to 400 more then what the nVidia price is. You want founders edition you pay a lot because they are rare. Also this is covid-19 times so stock will be low and prices will be high. Just wait it out and buy the 3070 as it will be coming out in days but prices will be steep. If you don't want to spend that extra 400 dollars then get a 2070 which is a great 2k gaming card and what not. 😲💯✌👍🤷‍♀️

Thank yo so much for your information, I will wait for the 3070 to come out.
I already have an 4k monitor but I lowered my expectations because I thought it was never possible to reach 4k with 100 fps.

If you have seen my specs, can I really get that result from my rug with an 3070???

Thank you for your information!!!
For the time comming I will look at what the price will be. My budget will be around 700 eu (a little more than what you would pay for the super gaming 2070 trio)

The price is kind of important to me.

Just 1080p 60, high???
You could do that with a 1660 Super or 2060...

Really??? Whahaha I always had problems with frame drops or being stuck around 45 fps. So I lowered my expectations very much. So when I buy a New power full gpu it is more likly to exeed my expectations than disapoint me.
My budget will be around 700eu.

If I told you my budget is around 700eu. (825 dollar) Would going for a 3070 still be a good idea??? Or will it be more expensive?

The way I see, the only reason to buy a 20xx card right now is if you have to. If your GPU fails and you need to replace. Then and only then does it make any sense, and that is only a little.

Wait until the reviews and availabilty of the 30xx is the right strategy, today.
